Is there anybody out there?

The internet the internet the internet the internet.

Communication.  “Just a click away”.  “We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.”

Yeah right.

Frustration.  Visa institutions, car hire companies, banks, you name it.  You can’t talk to anyone.  Sometimes I feel like I’m the last human left on earth.  There’s a multitude of aliens tapping at their computers and are they actually communicating  with a person?  No.

To get an email address to find a specific reply on something is near impossible.  If you have a request that is slightly out of the ordinary, is it possible to find the answer – NO.

Sadly living where we live, one can’t just “simply use a credit, or debit card” – why?  Because the country is in a severe cash crisis.  You can’t just book online as we have to have special authority from the bank to release the funds – the hard earned funds with which we are actually hoping to HAVE A HOLIDAY.  So we have to get a quote from the car hire company – how do we get this?  Email them?  No, impossible!  You try…. but you get an automated response from “noreply@whoknowsfuckingwhere.com”.  I literally want to tear my hair out.

I dream of the time that I am actually on the plane, winging my way over our cherished African continent, landing at Heathrow and all our ducks are in a row.

I wonder who I’ll see out there – aliens?  Are we the last humans left on this planet?
